Cub Scout Pack 4 Helps Nature Center (November
2006)
Pictured is Cub Scout Pack 4 on November 4,
2006. The 50 Scouts and family members helped the Fanwood Nature
Center by spreading by spreading wood chips on the trails. They
also removed litter. The large turn out was able to accomplish
twice as much work as originally planned. Nature Center
Caretaker Dean Talcott quipped "There were so many people
working through out the Nature Center that they looked like ants
at a picnic".
David Tice coordinated the work by Pack 4, by contacting Talcott.
After the work was completed, the group was assembled and Pack
Cubmaster Brett Carter spoke to the group. He told them that the
work that they had done helped their community and that, this
was a big part of what scouting is about. Copies of the Fanwood
Nature Center Trail Guide were given out. Free copies of the
Guide are available at Fanwood Borough Hall & Fanwood Memorial
Library. For more information about Cub Scout Pack 4, please

The wood chips were provided by Union County’s Bureau of Shade
